Air Pressure Whistle

Air Pressure Whislte
This is the original whistle from the Lake Shore Mine. When the mine was in operation, the whistle was blown at the end of shifts and for mine emergencies. The whistle consists of three brass domes mounted on a cast iron cross bar, and finally attached to a stainless steel pipe. The whistle operates on air pressure. Donated by Robin Marshall - acquired from Cyril Marshall who was superintendent of Heath & Sherwood (1964) Ltd. from 1970-1983 when Heath & Sherwood took over the former Lake Shore building in 1970.

Donated: 1997
