Our Gift Shop is comprised of local photo reproductions, local artisan’s work and books written by or about Kirkland Lakers; Kirkland Lake apparel for the whole family, as well as mugs featuring the original seven gold mines in the Kirkland Lake Gold Camp, and postcards!
Longtime painter and Kirkland Lake Arts Club member June Simpson has released a nostalgia series which is available in the Gift Shop. The series includes watercolour prints of Toburn Mine, the Lakeshore Arena and the Sir Harry Oakes Chateau. It will soon include the LaSalle Theater and KLCVI.
Crooked Creek Soap:
A series of handmade soaps and bath products including bar soaps, bath fizzies and foot salves. They’re all made locally.
Bill Glover Books:
Local author Bill Glover has three books currently for sale in the Gift Shop, “The 50 50 Club,” “Friends of a Mad Miner” and his most recent work “Tales of a Mad Miner.” It features true stories from an experienced miner about adventures around the world.
Pictured is a sample of local artisan Carmen Detweiler’s homemade “Juicy Candles.” Products include 8 oz jar candles, votives and tealights. They come in a variety of scents including Apple Spice, Black Raspberry Vanilla and Pumpkin Pecan Pastry.
Slice of the North:
Featured is a sample of Matachewan artisan Wendy Standwick’s work. Her series “A Slice of the North” is a line of diamond drilled Canadian Shield core sample jewelry.
Twisted and Bent:
Local jewelry artist Susan Hartling has her collection of unique “Twisted and Bent” pieces in the Gift Shop. It includes necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings.
